The Principal Ingredients in Prost-8 Supreme & Their Proven Benefits
Over 20 years of successful treatment with thousands of men have developed and honed this amazingly effective formulation. It does not contain a ‘pinch’ of the active ingredients but the actual quantities and grades used in clinical trials. These are some of the most important ones:

The French Connection:
Pygeum Africanum works by reducing inflammation, fluid retention & helping to repair damaged blood vessels and has been shown to reduce enlarged prostate problems in as many as 66% of cases and with no side effects.

In France, 81% of all prescriptions for the treatment of Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy (BPH) contain Pygeum extract (typically 150mg a day). A study in the Lancet concluded “significant improvements in symptoms and urinary flow parameters show the effectiveness in just 30 days”.

Saw Palmetto:
Saw Palmetto extract has been widely recognised by the U.S. & European Pharmacopoeia as a remedy for prostate problems since the early 1900’s. More than 20 double-blind placebo-controlled clinical studies have reported Saw Palmetto extract relieved all major symptoms of BPH.

A study of 563 patients who took it for 3 months reported that their rate of urine flow was more than twice as great as that of patients who took Proscar. Another study of 283 patients reported significant relief of all symptoms after only 1 month and without the side effects of Proscar (impotence, loss of sex drive, abnormal ejaculation). “To prevent BPH, start taking Saw Palmetto extract on a regular basis in your mid-forties. Find a product with 80mg of the most potent extract and take it twice a day,” says Dr Julian Whitaker.

For those who already have a prostate problem, he recommends 160mg to 320mg of 85% extract daily. On average 74% of men ceased night time visits taking Saw Palmetto 85% extract.

Essential Amino Acids:
In a report published in the Journal of the Maine Medical Association, Dr, H.M. Feinblatt and Dr. J.C. Grant conducted a double blind trial of patients with enlarged prostates. Half were treated with an amino acid mixture and the other half given a placebo. Research showed that within the group taking the amino acids:
• 92% of them noted a reduction in prostate size
• 95% experienced less nocturia (need to urinate during the night)
• 81% found they had a less frequent need to urinate
• 71% had reduced discomfort.

A Tomato A Day:
A four year Harvard Medical School study demonstrated Lycopene, from tomatoes, was the only carotenoid that had a significant benefit for prostate cancer. Researchers found that, of the 50,000 healthy males studied, those who ate at least 10 servings of tomatoes or tomato-based products per week were 36% less likely to develop prostate cancer than those who never ate them.

Flax Lignans:
Flax seeds and their oil have been valued for centuries. Recently researchers at Duke University Medical School conducted several studies looking at the effect of flax seed on prostate cancer. In a pilot study, 25 men with prostate cancer were given a low fat diet plus flax seed for 34 days. At the end the men had lower rates of cancer cell growth and a trend toward lower PSA levels. Flax Lignans also help relieve and improve urinary flow as well as reducing the size of the enlarged prostate, oh and they help reduce hair loss too!

Zinc - The Male Mineral:
Two types are needed to follow the different metabolic pathways in the body. It is only zinc aspartate that travels directly to the prostate. The prostate uses 10 times more of this nutrient than any other organ in the body. As the production of testosterone declines, an enzyme stimulates the production of other hormones that cause enlargement. Many scientists have confirmed that when sufficient zinc is present, it helps stop that enzyme doing its damage.

In all, eight prominent research scientists have published studies confirming that zinc is essential for keeping your prostate healthy.

Selenium Magic:
Experimental studies have demonstrated that the heavy metal Cadmium stimulates the growth of abnormal prostate tissue.

Additionally, these studies showed that the administration of adequate amounts of Selenium inhibited growth stimulation from Cadmium. It has also been noted in scientific literature that a decline in a consumption of selenium over decades has conversely resulted in increased rates of Prostate cancer, even when age adjusted.

Reported in several journals to inhibit the enzymes that convert testosterone to DHT and also to Estradiol (an oestrogen hormone), reducing both prostate gland enlargement and libido loss.

It also has an anti-inflammatory action that improves bladder function. Because of its triple action benefits it is an essential in any prostate formulation.

Casual thought may lead you to believe if you take more of a nutrient, more will be available for use by the body. This is not necessarily true; in fact, more from less is better and ultimately safer. Studies show that when Bioperine is taken with other nutrients, it increases the absorption of those nutrients into the blood stream by up to 300%.

Testosterone as well as converting to DHT converts to an oestrogen hormone which accelerates prostate gland congestion. Genistein blocks these receptor sites and reduces congestion.

Also a protein called SHBG which reduces the amount of free testosterone available to sustain a high libido is blocked by Genestein. A 10% reduction in SHBG was found within 7 days (and corresponding increase in free testosterone).

The Cernilton Solution:
Cernilton has been shown shown to have anti-inflammatory properties, relaxing muscles that surround the urethra and inhibiting the growth of abnormal prostate cells. It also has been reported to improve the symptoms of chronic prostatitis. In 1988, a double-blind study concluded it improved nocturia (excessive urination at night) in 69% of men.

It’s also been found to inhibit the production of DHT - Di-hydro-testosterone, the primary sex hormone responsible for prostate growth. In addition to this potent natural compounds effectiveness, numerous studies show it to be extremely well tolerated with no side effects.

Stinging Nettles:
Nettle has been used and recommended in Germany as a treatment for BPH for decades and has several outstanding clinical studies to support its efficacy in improving urinary flow, reducing residual urine retention & nightly frequency.

The trials have shown not only can stinging nettle root be beneficial in its own right but it works in harmony to make Saw Palmetto and Pygeum Africanum more effective.

Panax Ginseng:
Proven to reduce an enlarged prostate gland whilst simultaneously helping the body to produce from free testosterone enhancing sex drive and performance. 50% less Asian men have prostate problems whilst taking Panax Ginseng daily.

Bee Pollen:
Extremely rich in protein and essential fatty acids, several studies show that men with inflamed prostates have marked improvement in reducing the size of the prostate gland.

93% of men in one study concluded it was effective / 53% in another study reported it markedly effective in overcoming prostatitis.

Pumpkin Seeds:
Have specific fatty acids and plant sterols that have huge anti inflammatory and anti-infectionary properties that assist urine flow. 57% of men in one study had significant improvement in urine flow.

A natural isoflavone and bioflavonoid aromatase inhibitor, that  has shown reductions in serum oestrogen levels and increases in free testosterone within 30 days. This is a 90% potency chrysin to ensure absorption into the blood-stream. 30% increases in free testosterone have been reported within 30 days.

Corn Silk:
Contains powerful saponins, allantoin, sterols, tannins and is a valuable diuretic and demulcent (having a soothing effect) to the urinary tract.

Beta Sitasterol:
A key phytosterol in the combination reported in The Lancet to show "significant improvements in symptoms and urinary flow parameters in the treatment of BPH".
